Media Rights Capital

Media Rights Capital is a leading independent film, television and digital studio that specializes in premium content across a full spectrum of media platforms, including film, television, Internet, mobile and broadband. The company was founded by co-CEOs Modi Wiczyk and Asif Satchu, who attended Harvard Business School together; in fact, the business plan for MRC was written by Modi Wiczyk while at Harvard.

Media Rights Capital is a pioneer in the entertainment industry because it partners directly with creative talent, including actors, writers, directors, and producers. Since its inception, MRC has raised significant capital and forged strong relationships with a wide range of traditional and nontraditional production and distribution entities. During the writers' strike of 2007, Media Rights Capital was one of four studios who signed an interim agreement with the Writers Guild of America in support of creative talent in the entertainment industry.

Media Rights Capital has financed such films as the Oscar Nominated "Babel." MRC's 2008 film projects include "Shorts," written and directed by Robert Rodriguez; "This Side of the Truth," co-written, directed by, and starring Ricky Gervais; "The Box," written and directed by Richard Kelly and starring Cameron Diaz; "Linha de Passe," written and directed by Walter Salles; "Foxcatcher," written and directed by Bennett Miller; "Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho," and new films by Sacha Baron Cohen and Todd Field, including "Bruno," a sequel to "Borat."

Thanks to Keith Samples and Dan Goodman, Media Rights Capital is also in the forefront of television syndication agreements and digital marketing. Media Rights Capital has entered into a deal with Google to provide monetized streamlined television in the digital space using Google Adsense for the online streaming and promotion of shows such as Family Guy and a new "how-to" series hosted by Raven Symone from Disney's That's So Raven.

Media Rights Capital's executive team also includes: Dan Goodman, the President of Digital Media; Keith Samples, heading television investments; and Marni Wieshofer, Executive Vice President of Corporate Development, and Williams H. Masterson III, Executive Vice President of Digital Content Partnerships. Media Rights Capital was founded by Asif Satchu and Modi Wiczyk in 2004. The company has offices in Los Angeles and in New York.
